Demand Responsive Transit (DRT)

Pilot Project for Demand Responsive Transit (DRT)

DRT Background

  • In accordance with the limited license condition of Article 17 of the Passenger Transport Service Act Enforcement Rule, diverse policies for user-friendly public transportation services have been implemented in large metropolitan cities , mid- and small-size cities, and agricultural and fishing communities to enhance the convenience of public transportation during nighttime and commuting hours.
  • The Gyeonggi Transport Corporation is pursuing a Demand Responsive Transit (DRT) pilot project as a diversification initiative for new public transportation services in line with on-demand services in consideration of local conditions for supplying public transportation and usage characteristics following changes in the transportation systems in metropolitan areas, changes in land usage, and population changes, as well as to determine how to supply public transportation that responds to demand levels.
